Buyrite Soundsystem – Dem Girls Stealing My Rolex

Being a Man Of Many Aliases (some of which have never been shared, dear reader) after DJNoNo and before I was Captain Obvious (and round about the same time as DJ Contaminations) I did a single spoof track by Buyrite Soundsystem, a spoof of a few friends of mine and their Rolex/Wiley connection, and the general tendency for neon, whoop-whoop lazer noises and deep basslines predominant at the time. Except rather than a cool 4×4 UK bass (yes that’s what they called it, 4×4 rather than 2-step, silly term) mashup, Zig & Zag got in on the mix.

Must have been doing something right as APC posted it back in the day, but now I can confess it was I, L’Eclair. Although anyone with half a brain probly worked it out, given that it sounded like DJNoNo Goes Neon Hoxton Rave.

DJNoNo – BlackMas Dub

Just back from Egypt and South Africa (hey they put on a revolution just for me! So nice!) but I’ve still been busy in my absence. DJNoNo’s spooktastic Xmas mashup ‘BlacKmas Dub’ went up yesterday as part of the inaugural post for the 13 Days of Creepmas – a Halloween protest against the creeping of Christmas into other seasons. In fact I was really surprised in South Africa (and obviously Egypt as a Muslim country) there were no Xmas decorations, so when I arrived at Heathrow I had a shock as the deluge of Xmas-related eye-tinsel had already started….Anyway also on the mashup EP are mashups from Sticks Downey, Cheekyboy, G4Gorilla And DJ Useo. You can also download my track here if the link goes AWOL in future.

Thanks to Cheekyboy!

DJNoNo – Batty Dub (originally for Mashed n’ Slashed Halloween)

Originally for the excellent Mashed n’ Slashed compilation last year, this is DJNoNo using Sesame Street’s Count von Count again with Batty Song and taking a more dancehall twist with Weedy G’s Sleng Teng refuelled riddim. One two three….batty!batty!batty!batty!

Now with new video:

DJNoNo – Those Were the Drums (Mary Hopkin vs Aphrodite)

DJNoNo‘s frankly quite worrying love affair with Aphrodite (not as dodgy as his obsession with Julie Andrews, the stalking court hearing is in a few weeks) continues with this ode to the Asylum ‘Those Were the Drums’ mashing Mary Hopkin’s 1968 classic ‘Those Were the Days’ with ‘London Massive’ by Aphrodite – and craftily sneaking in some Osymyso talking about Bastard at the Asylum for Swiss TV all those years ago…

This was played back in November at the 72 night, not got around to posting that and the other tunes I did until now…rest will follow hopefully :-D
