I really like this idea…
People posting (High Fidelity style) their favourite 'mixtapes' ie. links to tracks available on the web...kind of like webjay but clickable...http://www.mixtaper.com/ - I love the World's Strangest Covers one, but then I'm included in it so I would. wouldn't I?
Update: Show 33 is done, was recorded a week ago before my new PC arrived and I disappeared in a flurry of white polystyrene and cardboard boxes. So Old George has given way to George, the Athlon 64 PC, but el Georgio has a seriously schizoid ethernet port (gah) so I've now got my files transferred via my secret weapon, Miguel (or Moses ? Not finalised the name yet, but I have to say Charles is happy...). (I just re-read that last paragraph. I sound like an uber-geek crossed with barbie).
Anyway more about that in the next show after 33...*cue spooky music*...well when it gets edited...

Salon.com (liberal news site) actually had a "Summer Soundtrack Contest" where you submit your free music playlist. Grand Prize is a 20 Gig Ipod.
Mine was the second one to get published. http://www.salon.com/ent/audiofile/index.html?day=20050617

Ha ha! The ENTIRETY of the World's Strangest Covers one is from my Music For Maniacs blog, but he credits me, so that's nice.

I thought it sounded VERY familiar but there were a few tracks there I must have missed on your blog!
