Ableton Live 5 will support MP3s

Friday, June 10th, 2005

One of the most popular gripe amongst all the mashup artists I know is why does Ableton only support WAV files and not MP3s? (well the mashup artists I know that use or thinking of using Ableton).

According to Richard Bluestein’s blog, (via Makezine) Ableton 5 will support MP3s, drag and drop audio and instant tempo matching.

Interesting - I might check out Ableton and Acid Pro might just have gotten a big rival (quite a few people are using Ableton to mash up and mix live, but Acid Pro is still king of the booties - but for how long?)

Radio Clash makes the Now Playing magazine cover story

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

I was interviewed by Mike Whybark earlier in the year for Now Playing, a new national magazine in the States for a cover story about ‘digital music revolution’. The interview was about Radio Clash, mashups and mashup blogs - and I’ve heard it’s out now - with my picture (eek! - courtesy of Paige Baird - thanks :-D)

I’ve not seen it yet but my spies in the States ( thank you 231) have so I can talk about it as I now know it exists.

Go check it out - looks like a cool magazine too - still waiting for my copy! Can’t wait…

Tim

SmallWORLD interview part deux now up!

Sunday, June 5th, 2005

Usually sequels suck, but I assure you this is the exception that proves the rule!…;-)

After part one (which I enjoyed - thank you BazookaJoe, you made me sound like a human that can do interviews, not the gibbering wreck I usually am!) smallWORLD has just put up #102 (dang! just missed the 100th!) which is part two of the interview - well it’s the informal discussion we had at the end of the first interview (which flowed a lot better I thought…always the way, the off-record stuff, the end of the show or the second take works better…)

Now you’re all really sick of my voice now, I guess?

Yes I want to dominate all media channels, mwuahahahahaHAHA…

You can download my mashups played in this cast here:

Anyway, don’t be a linkleech, go and check out his site and subscribe to his feed - I mean 102 interviews is nothing to sniff at! Wow…

Just had to post with that title (copyright tim 2005, cc attributive license, all patents pending) , no reason really, nothing to see here. move along….

But really, podcatcher has to be one of the silliest terms since blogosphere and vertical industries don’t you think?

“Umm watcha doin?”

“Uhh gonna catch sum podzzz, see ya later…”

Podcatcher, podcatcher, catcher man
Catch me some pods as fast as you can…

And what happens if you drop a pod?

Ugh on second thoughts don’t ask…
