vlog the impaler
Thursday, May 25th, 2006Been watching a few vlogs (video blogs), like ones at http://vidlicious.blogspot.com/ and at http://apperceive.blogs.com/ very impressive. And quite moving.
Can’t help thinking though that you have to be slightly insane and an extreme extrovert/drama student/theatrical type to do a vlog…what kind of equipment do you need? Might be fun to do with Kirk and Me, but on my own I’d feel so self-concious - it’s taken me 20+ years of deprogramming to be comfortable in front of a mic. I’d hate to think how long it would take for a video camera..
I might feel different when I buy Charles II - hopefully a black 30Gb iPod, soon. I do wonder about the attention-rich nature of vlogging - the beauty of podcasting is you can do other things (either recording or listening) and multitask. You can’t do that with vlogs…but you can gaze on the odd cute vlogger, so not so bad I suppose…
