I’ve been featured in Time Out magazine!

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I was in Trier and got a phone call from Scott from the Night Nurse Show during his Thursday show letting me know I was in last week’s Time Out - Natasha (also from the NN Show) spotted it!

Big thanks to Scott and Natasha for letting me know, he even typed it up:

This music podcast originates for our own dear London town and is put together by a man who wishes to be known only as Tim, to avoid, as he puts it, ‘copyright stormtrooper crashing through my windows’. Tim is a mash-up fan, so you get plenty of those, as well as interesting remakes, remixes and anything else that takes his fancy. It’s the ideal mix of old stuff you’d forgotten you liked, new stuff you want to hear more of, and weird stuff that just makes you think ‘humph-weird’. Tim is adamant that he doesn’t want his podcast - already over 100 downloads (???) old with no signs of flagging - turning into a job or making any money, which is endearing in this cynical world. If you’re looking for a summery bank holiday soundtrack, try no. 116 (called Born to Synthesise) which features everyone from London Elektricity to Ivor Cutler, Public Enemy to ELO.

Funnily enough my name is Tim, LOL. Thank you Time Out people! May I suggest excellent London-based The Night Nurse Show for a future review? ;-)

Back from Trier

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Back from the Trier DJ Slam, tired and emotional, well actually with a bad cold :-( But had fun while I was there, and you can read more about it at my Livejournal - but here are the pictures and video so far from Trier:

EDIT: Check out the new highlights/teaser video from ThriftshopXL below - it’s VERY good

Video to follow from Thriftshop XL! I didn’t record a podcast, otherwise this would’ve been a total media overload…and it was nice to have a rest!

Here are a few more of my pics of the DJ Slam at Produktion am Dom and Joerg’s Lubke Cafe (how do you do those umlaut fingies? hmm)

Parkade launch tonight!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

The Parkade launch party is tonight - myself, Amanda and Topher are all DJing - the order is if I’ve remembered it correctly:

DJNoNo Ulysses (me!) - 10pm - 12am UK (2-4pm SL/PST)
Amanda Shinji - 12am - 3am UK (4pm-7pm SL)
Topher Delcon - 3am - 7am (7pm-10pm)

It’ll be the usual eclectic mix of bootlegs, electrohouse, dnb, trance, rave, dub, ska, rock and pop - and that’s just my set! The others will be playing those genres and more, so it’ll be fun. Probably be trying out some tracks I’ll be playing in Trier.

So come on down - either search for Parkade (the new club in the same place) or use the SLURL here which I think still works.

And the BootieSL events will go ahead as before :-D

Pimp my Myspace

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I’ve having spent ages redesigning my Radio Clash Myspace page cos of the ancient/weird architecture - really if it wasn’t so crap it’d take no time at all:

  • Got rid of that awful Myspace Player…and replaced it with one with all my podcasts on it!
  • Zapped the blog. Does anyone know how to make it one entry only?
  • Sorted out the background so it’s more like the website
  • Flipped it so it’s more like the website (did that ages ago actually)
  • Broke the links so I took them off including that horrible MUSIC bar. Does anyone know how to fully hide the links bar without also hiding the shows?

Really if I go further I’m going to have to comment the whole dang shebang out and put in my own website code (yes you can do that, yes it’s OK as long as you keep the advertising!) but kind of defeats the point of a Myspace site, really.

Go have a looksie: http://www.myspace.com/radioclashmashup

Radio Clash promos

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

I’ve been requested for these a few times now by other podcasters - and if I say myself I’m rather proud of these promos (ooh get her!). So feel free to spread/play/whatever. They are non-CC/non-podsafe btw (although only the backing and most is fairly unrecogniseable) apart from the last one which is all my own work.

Long term listeners might not have heard the BubnBob promo/ident (I don’t think I ever used it!) or the Britcaster 5 minute intro to Radio Clash from a year ago!

Britcaster Introduction to Radio Clash (5 mins, May 2006 - fully Creative Commons Non-commercial/Podsafe as it’s all my own music!)
