Probably the world record for fastest reboot/remix?
I asked iWillBattle if it was OK to reboot his mashup ‘Paul McCartney Got Back’ , a brilliant combo of The Beatles with Billy Preston – Get Back vs Sir MixALot’s Baby Got back inspired by Paul McCartney’s Got Back tour poster. That was released just 24 hours ago because I wanted to take it in another direction. He said yes, and is happy for me to release this (I checked with him because the first time I did this the person wasn’t happy with it, only really done this 3 or 4 times in nearly 20 years!).

I wanted to add the beat from the original, which turns out is a sample itself – an early house track by Juan Atkins and Doug Craig (Carl Craigs brother) aka Channel One -Technicolor, and add more Beatles in, and generally beef it up.
This is very much the ‘maxi’ extended version to the original, which still stands up as a classic A vs B, but I wanted to have fun glitching to the beat and making more of an Instamatic version. Also his doesn’t have the intro, so I added that back in, because I think it’s a really iconic part of that track, but spun to the Beatles studio chat…. ‘Lorreta!’.
Proudest bit is in the drop – sometimes the simplest ideas are the best!
Anyway it’ s been interesting talking to Will comparing our different approaches, and looks like he might make a video of this, so it comes back around 😉
