As It Was by Harry Styles has always bugged me – it’s a-Ha type synths hide a very dark track, and it feels like it’s really double the speed it should be. Also it seems quite indie and alternative with mention of pills and isolation.

‘Cause it’s a bitter sweet symphony, that’s life (you know it’s not the same)
Trying to make ends meet
Trying to find some money, then you die (you know it’s not the same)
I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down (you know it’s not the same)
You know the one that takes you to the places
Where all the veins meet, yeah (you know it’s not the same as it was)

So I paired it with the half-speed indie anthem Bitter Sweet Symphony and turned it into a lighter waving existential anthem about things not being as good as they used to be but then again, I can change, I can change, I can change….

As you do.
