“We were right ’til we weren’t
Miley Cyrus – Flowers
Built a home and watched it burn”

Sometimes a lyric hits me like a proverbial truck, last year it was “I’m the problem it’s me’, this year it’s this song…loving all the disco mashups of Flowers, but think it deserves the slow moody treatment, one like the feeling I first got when I connected to the song, a highly personal mood, hence pairing it with While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Me? mashing The Beatles? With MY track record?
Yes, I was really wary, since I’ve found Beatles tricky in the past but ran it past Ian Fondue – thanks for the advice – and think this one is good.
I rebuilt and remixed the backing from the ground up with stems, it wasn’t a simple AI job….maxed out the tracks I could use on Ableton Live, in fact. I think it was worth it trying to emulate George Martin (emphasis on the word trying).
Although this is the epitomy of moody mash, I feel it’s an Instamatic track, as the Beatles ones in the past were released under that alias, but certainly elements of tbc in there too.
