Inspired by an old ToTom mashup – Lady Gaga’s Million Reasons vs a piano version of Gary Numan’s Down By The Park, I have been obsessed belatedly with the Gaga song. the lyrics resonate deeply with me at the moment. It seems stripping the pseudo-country backing and putting something more sombre and piano works far better, the vibes mesh.
And while it was running around my head I absent-mindedly started singing I Don’t Like Mondays by the Boomtown Rats, a song that is a popular earworm on all Mondays…I checked and amazingly it worked! So here you are.
Now I have two earworms to sing on dark days when I just want to say fuck it and quit everything. It’s a common feeling with me.
And yes I know the backstory of the Boomtown Rats track, I am a true crime obsessive. Again, all very intentional. Embrace the darkness and chaos and let it all fall to ruin…
