Left of Centre, Wondering About You – or not in the case of the LiBianca track where her friends didn’t think of her at all – an afrobeat plea for considering the mental health of your friends, that theme seems to cross these two mashups. And yes, more 80’s!
It’s hard to get a decent Radiohead instrumental of this track, it’s near enough but thought people might want to hear what Suzanne Vega and Radiohead sound like. Left of Center is haunting me atm, total earworm and has become an anthem of mine recently (and indeed back in the day).
I marked this as a demo when I uploaded it on Remix.Audio (formerly Sowndhaus) but listening back, I think I was being too critical, it’s pretty much there, might revisit the mastering sometime.
I made this to try and exorcise it -and so I could play it on the podcast (A&M is UMG) but not sure now.I am rather annoyed that everyone mashes Tom’s Diner though…there is much more to her than one song!
Left of Center Climbing Up These Walls – (Suzanne Vega vs Radiohead)
“and these feelings still remain….”
I am so obsessed by the afro-beat LiBianca anthem, People (Check On Me) – so many truths for those of us with mental health issues, and an album of my youth was Architecture and Morality, it’s also an important key album for me.
I know that this will likely sink without a trace, people don’t like downbeat epic moody mashups, and I know he LiBianca isn’t well known yet (it SHOULD be) but this one is for *me*. This is how I feel.
“Nobody wey know the paranoia
LiBianca – People (Check On Me)
‘Cause I put a smile on my face
A façade you can never face
And if you don’t know me well, well,
You won’t see how buried I am inside my grave
Inside my grave”
